As many of you know, EA has release patch 1.5 BETA. Remember this is only a BETA and should be used at your own risk.

Installing this will cause your BF2 installation to be uncompatible with current 1.41 servers meaning you will not be able to play them until you undo the patch.

Here is how you undo the patch.

Copy your Battlefield 2 install to another location
Install the update
This will update your version of Battlefield 2 where it originally installed.

To go back to 1.41

Rename your new (1.50) install folder to something else i.e. Battlefield 2 1.50
Rename the copied install (1.41) to what it originally was i.e. Battlefield 2
Click START>RUN
Type: regedit
Go to (in Vista its different): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2
There you will see a key called Version. It should say 1.50
Change this to 1.40 and close regedit
Run Battlefield 2 as normal
